World Cup Race in Mont-Saine-Anne, Canada
Thick and fast it goes at the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. Another week after the race in Snowshoe, USA stood the race Mont-Saine-Anne.
Mountainbike World Cup in Mont-Saine-Anne, Canada
From 05 to 07 August, the penultimate meeting of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup was scheduled in the French-speaking part of Canada. Our rider Anne Terpstra entered the upcoming races as the World Cup leader.
If there is one track on this year's track list that deserves legend status, it is the one in Mont-Saine-Anne. Already in 1991, the first MTB World Cup was held there in Quebec.
But what makes the track so special? On the one hand, it is the longest track on the UCI MTB World Cup Tour, and on the other hand, "La Béatrice" is the most difficult descent this year.
"La Béatrice" is probably the most famous downhill stone passage, which winds along directly below the gondola. But the course also features three crisp climbs, which can make up a lot of time for strong female climbers.
XCC Race
In the XCC race on Friday our decimated GFRT finished on a double podium. Anne Terpstra finishes in 4th place, closely followed by Caroline Bohé who finishes after Anne in 5th place.
XCO Race on Sunday
In the long Olympic distance race, Anne Terpstra once again beat her rivals for the overall lead. She rides to 7th place and Caroline Bohé to 10th place in an exhausting and energy-sapping race in which a technical defect was decisive, after she crashed twice after the weather changed. With runner-up Rebecca McConnell only 19th, Anne extended her lead to 64 points. In the team classification our GFRT was once again the leader of the race - meanwhile it is 405 points ahead of the Specialized Factory Racing Team.
Prospect
There is only one race left: Val di Sole in Italy. The race continues on September 2.
Here our girls can make both the team classification and Anne personally the World Cup victory perfect!
